Debt Management Programs
Many creditors are willing to allow for special repayment plans
for their customers who undergo financial hardship and enroll
in a Debt Management Program.
These debt help programs require the consumer to show a strong
sense of need before being considered. So, just because you buy
a fancy sports car and are now having trouble paying all your
bills, doesn't mean you would qualify. Yes, you owe a lot of money,
but no you wouldn't be able to qualify without being willing to
sell the car. You cannot live above your means and think that
a debt relief program will make it all go away. This is not a
quick fix scheme, in fact it's no scheme at all.
This is not about cheating the system. It is about consumers
who have accumulated a minimum of $5,000 in unsecured debt and
are now unable to make the required monthly payments.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people. An illness, a job
loss, and in no time you've fallen behind on some of your payments.
Being late on even one credit card payment will result in you
interest fees doubling and your minimum payment doubling or tripling.
Interest charges accrue and, being in arrears, late charges will
drive the cost of your unsecured debt up sharply in almost no
time at all. It's easy to see how America has become a nation
in so much debt.
Never missing a business opportunity, many of the major creditors
have hardship programs for customers who qualify. The creditors
sponsor their own consumer credit counseling agencies. Every creditor
offers a different program, which typically benefits them the
most. However, your monthly payments and interest rates are reduced
but never as low as they once were, the outragous late fees are
stopped and accounts are brought current meaning the harrassing
phone calls stop.
There are other financial hardship programs which are more benficial
to the consumer, and you should consider them first. The debt
management programs offered through Debt
Settlement empower the consumer and work 100% to
your advantage, not the bank's.
Debt Management Programs, in general, may:
• Reduce your monthly payments
• Save you thousands of dollars in interest and late fees
• Establish a manageable budget
• Stop harrassing collections phone calls
• Plan a course of action to becoming debt free
What debt can be included? Only unsecured debts:

there remains an outstanding balance of over $100.
Money owed to friends and family can be placed in the program,
however, in most cases, they are omitted because the friend or
relative is willing offer leniency.
These debt types should qualify for the debt negotiation program:
